Didn't he die in a car accident?

I think Gary had another really bad Asthma attack that caused cardiac arrest. I remember he had  a bad one just before graduation and was able to come to the ceremony.

Thank you Linda ... you are so kindhearted ... Gary did use an inhaler ... remember him using one in class, our Senior year, Doc Magnum's select Russian History, I think ... and me thinking, "That's odd, what the hell is that thing?" ... I was so stupid then ... not that I'm not still stupid, just more experienced ... rememeber we double-dated once, at the Roxy, his date was very cute ... when we went for popcorn, he explained, that my date wanted to engage in a little kissing and such ... I told him that I'd get her some coke, and let it go at that ... he smiled, and said, "Ya"

I see there that is no date by Gary's passing.  He passed away in May 1969.  He's interred at Mt. Olivet Cemetary on the old Cemetary Road.  He did indeed need his inhaler -- nearly all of the time.  I, too, remember him having a really bad asthma attack shortly before our high school graduation.  A girlfriend and I visited him at the old Renton Hospital.  I didn't remember that he had actually been able to attend our graduation.  I am so glad.  I don't believe he made it to his college graduation though.  And he didn't make it to his 22nd birthday, which would have been in July of that year.  Simply not fair...

Gary, Mlke Holman and I were fraternity brothers at the UW.  Gary did die of a cardiac arrest. At the time of his death, he had not graduated from the U.

So sad. I had no idea he died so young. He was always nice. I am sad.

Gary did walk at graduation.  Later that summer he and I attended a fraternity rush party for Tau Kappa Epsilon and he pledged at that party.  He was a qucik decision maker.  Since he and I were going to be roommates at the UW he kind of forced my hand and I joined at the next summer rush party.  Gary worked at the same grocery store in Renton while attending the UW.  Just before Nita Rosendahl (who married Doug Bell after Gary died - Doug is another member of TKE but from a Florida school) began her student teaching Gary and her got married.  That would have occured in the fall/winter of 1968, while he and I shared an apartment on Lake Union. Before their first anniversary, while Nita was at school teaching, Gary woke up, started getting ready for work, and had a cardiac arrest as Bert indicated above.  He died far too early, far too soon, and those that counted him among our best friends miss him still.  But for me at least, I am reminded of him every day, as I see my son, Gary, named for him.

As a footnote, after Nita married Doug, they moved south, probably back to Florida and both studied for and got their law degrees.
