John was a good friend of mine in school and I feel terrible that I never saw him after graduation.  John worked for Puget Sound Energy and this is the obiturary I found in their union magazine about John:

John Tomas was born January 21, 1947 in Seattle, WA to Joseph & Marget Tomac. John passed away in Redmond, WA on August 11, 2005. John graduated from Renton High School and Western Washington University. He is survived by his wife, Donna and three stepsons, Richard VandeBrake (Marsha), Brooke VandeBrake (Melode) and Chris VandeBrake; his mother, Marget Tomac; his father, Joseph Tomac, preceded him in death in 1979; his brother, Arnold Tomac(Mary), 3 grandchildren and 3 nieces.

He was a loving husband and father. He loved fishing, traveling, music and collecting science fiction. The family will truly miss him.

He was with Puget Sound Power and Light Company through out his career from grunt, apprentice, journeyman, foreman, then left after Puget Sound Energy fired all the crews, he was able to stay on and in the position of a service lineman/trouble shooter/ first responder. He was a good union man and attended meeting reguarly and was involved at the local. (IBEW 77) He will be missed by all that knew him.
