Larry, I remember you all those years ago when we were on the gymnastics team together.  You were always a hard worker, encouraging team mate and an all-around great guy!  It was my pleasure to have known you and especially know that we shared a love for the sea, commercial fishing and stout vessels.  May you always have a star to steer by and the wind forever at your back.  I'm so sorry we never crossed paths again in life.  We will however, meet again.  God bless you and all those you loved.

Well said Terry, well said.  My heart goes out to Larry's family. You did more in a life time than most of us dream about.  RIP, Larry.

This is sad. Larry was a good friend of mine. So many memories. I loved his enthusiasm for life. In reading his obituary, it looks like he lived a full life. Rest in peace, my brother.

I wish I could have found you. I tried but I didn’t try hard enough. We were commercial fishing partners spending one sumer together at Westport in a small trailer and fishing a Twenty Foot Thompson  Lapstrake. You were my best friend and my

best man. I am so sorry we lost touch. Rest In Peace, good friend.

Larry really did live a full life. It is sad that I have not kept in contact with many of my high school friends. I enjoyed reading Larry's obituary. We spent a lot of time together in Track and Field. He was a hard worker. I remember that he and Charlie were often still working on the pole vault when the rest of us were finished with our workout. Since Larry often gave me a ride home I would stay and watch them. Condolences to his family.

What a wonderful tribute to an incredible man. I am constantly amazed at how talented our classmates were when I read their obituaries. So many fine and interesting, intelligent people from our little part of the world. Rest In Peace, old friend.

Larry was the best friend a guy could have. When I think of him it’s as if he was always in my life, but it was only about fifteen years give or take. I’ll always remember the glint in his eye and that sly smile, as if he knew something nobody else did. Larry was there for me through the best and the worst times of my life. What more can you ask? I miss him. Rest in peace my friend, you were one of life’s treasures.

Classmates,

So many wonderfull comments from classmates. Larry would be honored, if not tearful. Larry and I became very good friends in high school. I know Tom Morris and Darrel Smith were close also. Anyone who knew Larry knew Larry was an avid fisherman. I was passionate about fishing, but not like Larry, my dad, Jeff Pasco, or Darrell Smith. They were devout. In high school somehow Larry wound up at Baby Island Resort near Langley on Whidbey Island. I couldn't remember how he got there. Tom Morris contacted me (at my request)  but he couldn't remeber either; it waaas 53-54 years ago? Anyway, I was was raised summer weekends at Baby Island Resort from birth with my family with 3 or 4 other regular families. I introduced Larry to Vern and Margarete Johnson, the owners, and he landed a summer job. Vern even let him build a pool vault. Then I introduced him to the Hillmans'. Loretta was Margarete's sister and Mel was dad's new added fishing partner. Their daughters were Lynn and Chris who I had known forever. One afternoon I went looking all over for Larry to go fishing and finally I knocked on cabin 4. Larry shouted, 'Who is it?' I said, 'Chapman, do you want to...' All I heard was, 'Get the F_ _ _ out of here'. Lynn became his first wife. They never had a family. Tom even dated Chris a few times. It is sad that we have lost contact with so many of these interesting and gifted classmates. It makes me thankful that so many of us have kept our core in touch.

PS     Ron Schultz and Larry passed away 10 days apart.
