Mike Lotto

Mike Lotto

It is with great sadness that another one of our classmates has passed. In recent years Mike fought a courageous battle with heart disease. Mike you were one of a kind. May your journey forward be full of hot rods, good beer and good times!

Mike was a close neighbor of mine in high school and a good friend. He, Jack David, Tom Sepenan and I had many a great time together and helped keep each other in "good" trouble. My friend RIP and you truly will be missed. And to tell a good story on you here it goes: During a summer high school break Mike had just got one of Renton's most famous Hot Rod cars, his 57 Chev, repainted a deep burgundy red. He was at a keg party at the Green River Gorge when somebody yelled "cops" and Mike took a mad dash though the small sappling trees in his freshly painted car. Needles to say the new paint job was hosed. So naturally he was really pissed. So driving back to Renton for some reason he was going to go by the old Renton Police station. Well he took the turn by the station way too fast and rolled the Chevy on its roof. So Mike was ok but slightly inebriated. He also knew he was in big doo doo. So he walked to the nearest pay phone booth, called the cops, and reported his car stolen. Needless to say his ruse only lasted for a day or so and the cops knew he was the driver. But this was the good old days and Mike got a slap on the wrist and life went on. Again my friend, you will be missed!

Mike, Allen Major and I lived on Earlington Hill and and went to Grade School together 2nd - 4th grade. We made underground tunnels where we had our fort. We all went to Dimmit Jr high and Renton together . Allen was my best man at my wedding. I have many memories with both of them. When we were young we were like the 3 Amigos. Rest in peace Mike.
