In Memory

Richard Blumenstein

Richard Blumenstein

Dear Classmates,

It is with sadness I share Helen Shamek’s note below of the passing of Rick Blumenstein.

Sadly, Rickie passed away last night.
He will rest at a Veteran's cemetery, I do not know where. That is all I know, the only information I received. You all touched his life and I really appreciate those of you that were able to reach out to him. I'm sure a toast to him and your friendships might be the best remembrance.

Amy

I have known Rick since Kindergarten.  Just visited him a few weeks ago, glad I did.   RIP old friend.

First met Rick in the 7th grade at Dimmitt Junior High. We became friends but went our separate ways when we started high school. Didn't see too much of each other over the years but ran into him a couple of times during '69 -'71 at Tuck's in Renton. Sorry to hear he's gone.

Sad. Like Mike Shannon, I knew Rick snce 1st grade through semester one at Renton High.

We were in Boy Scouts together, and he and his brother Tim, my brother Steve, and I would have my mom drop us off in the Cascade mountains and leave us for several days as we hiked, camped and explored.

I exchanged emails about 2 years ago when he was living in Ecuador. Wish I'd known he was back in PNW, would have liked to talk to him again. RIP, you really lived a full life, buddy.
