In Memory

Mike Chapman

Mike Chapman

Unfortunately we have lost another classmate way too soon. Mike was a revered member of the RHS65 Reunion Committee. He had a real love of the class of 65 and many times could be heard saying that the class of 65 was the greatest ever. Mike was also a huge U of W Huskies  fan and had for many years season tickets to watch his "Dawgs" battle for football supremacy. Mike may you RIP and may the sun always shine on you.

I have known Mike for along time.  In High School and then as my Insurance agent.  On thing, Mike loved to fish and when Ike and him were able to fly to Alaska with me he never forgot that trip and always reminded me how grateful he was for the experience.  Mike, RIP my friend.

Clem Edwards requested I post this from him about Mike: RIP Mike...in the late 80’s I had a few issues with driving and so on...Mike covered my ass to the nth degree... We had several calls together these last 10 - 15 years and he could talk your leg off but he was a dear friend and I will miss him !

Everyone who knew Mike knew his heart was larger than his frame. From Sartori to McKnight to RHS to college and beyond, Mike has always been there for his friends and family. Many of us grew up with Mike and have wonderful memories of his unrelenting drive. Like the time he ate nothing but grapefruit for a week then wrapped himself in dry cleaner plastic and ran around the track to loose two pounds so he could wrestle in a lower weight class. What a guy! We all loved him and he will surely be missed. Rest in peace my friend.

Oh no, we have lost another of our wonderful friends and a great classmate. Mike was a dear friend. He would come down to our house on the lake in the summer. We would swim and water sky and race our boat and party, and drink beer; so fun. Was such a great time with him and all our friends.

Our thoughts go out to his family.

Thanks so much to Jerry for keeping us all up-to-date on the latest with all our dear classmates.

Mike was a special member of our reunion committee, always had great ideas, some a little wacky and funny at times, but we loved him. The thing that I remember most was his love for his family and his pride. He was always chasing a dream...

Wow mikes gone?? I and mike become good friends in varsity wrestling. Every Tuesday it was challenge day for a spot on thursdays varsity meet. We had to wrestle each other fir the position. It was hard to do but we always left the mat with a hug and hand shake. Had the pleasure of working with mike on our 20th class reunion. RIP my friend until we meet again.

Mike and I were close friends in High School. We shared many teenage misadventures, and In the process I came to know and  cherish Mike and his family. I went to family  picnics at his Grandparents farm in Issaquah, where the whole family laughed and talked just like Mike. I saw Mike two years ago and he still had  his infectious enthusiasm and easy laugh to hide the disappointments. But if there is one image Of Mike I will always remember it is of him running into a sleepy camp of fishermen at dawn carrying a large rattlesnake on the end of a pole. See you in the next life
